About

Coya
Hello.
I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember. Growing up the youngest of seven in an Irish family where everyone played traditional music, music was simply part of life from the very beginning. Santa brought me a violin when I was four, and I was writing my own (very bad) pop songs in notebooks by the time I was eight.
I took a bit of an unusual route getting here. I studied Electronic Engineering first — not the most obvious path for a musician, but it taught me a lot about how sound actually works. I then moved to London to study Music Production at Point Blank Music College, which was one of the best decisions I ever made. I got to learn from some brilliant people and went from there into working with record labels, production music libraries, and eventually supplying music to TV networks and brands around the world.
Coya is where I get to make music purely for the love of it, across whatever genre feels right. So far that’s meant ten albums — medieval fantasy, industrial sci-fi, retro game music, lo-fi house, preschool lullabies, cinematic rock and space ambient, among other things. All of it is free for streamers, creators, game developers and filmmakers to use in their work.
I also release personal singles — rock and pop songs that are really just for me, with no brief or category in mind.
Thanks so much for listening. It genuinely means a lot.
